2025 Show Awards to Be Presented at the National Show + New Point System Coming in 2026

Exciting updates are underway in the ABBA show points program as we continue to enhance recognition for the outstanding cattle and breeders who represent the American Brahman breed in the show ring.

Starting with the 2026 show season, a newly adopted point structure—approved at the most recent ABBA Board Meeting—will rank Show Bull and Show Female of the Year based on a breeder’s top 25 placings from the 30+ ABBA-approved shows. While the calculation formula will remain the same, this change aims to standardize recognition and more effectively reward consistent performance across the country.

To further expand acknowledgment within the breed, the ABBA Show Committee has introduced a new category: Regional Point Leaders. This initiative will highlight the topperforming Red and Grey bulls and females within specific regions, helping to broaden engagement and visibility for exhibitors at the local level.

In another exciting development, the 2025 Show Bull and Show Female of the Year will be recognized during a dedicated awards reception at the National Brahman Show in Bryan, Texas this November. Traditionally announced at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, this change allows for a more focused platform to showcase these prestigious awards. It will also include recognition of other important honors, such as the distinguished HK Memorial Award.

These honors go far beyond the show ring. They represent the hard work, vision, and commitment of ABBA breeders across the country—and the world. We look forward to celebrating these outstanding achievements with you this November in Bryan, Texas.

Brands in the Sand: A Celebration of Youth, Leadership, and Legacy

Brands in the Sand was nothing short of epic. From start to finish, this year’s All American event in Bryan, Texas was a shining example of what makes our junior program so impactful. With exhibitors and families traveling from seven states, the event brought together over 800 entries across multiple show divisions, along with leadership events and unforgettable experiences.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the AJBA Board, special committee chairs, the ABBA Youth Committee, and the ABBA staff—whose hard work and coordination made this year’s event such a resounding success.

Regardless of breed or geography, Junior Nationals remain a summer tradition for families who are passionate about cattle and community. The lessons learned, friendships formed, and memories made create lasting foundations for young people who will become the future of our breed and our industry.

Throughout the week, it was especially rewarding to witness the growth and leadership displayed by the AJBA Board as they mentored and supported younger members. Their example represents the very best of what youth livestock programs are meant to foster.
